Sustaining Compassion and Hope in Challenging Times

Featuring Keynote and workshop with

Paul Fulton, Ed.D.

Director of Mental Health, Tufts Health Plan

and Founding Member, Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy
Boston, Massachusetts

“Teach us to care and not to care.  Teach us to sit still.”

Mindfulness, compassion, and compassion fatigue

We are continually called upon to witness seemingly endless human suffering, and our efforts on behalf of our clients or ourselves can seem hopelessly inadequate.  How are we to remain helpful to others when we are faced with our own uncertainties and the simple exhaustion of compassion?  Dr. Fulton will speak to the contribution mindfulness may make to the heart of the caregiver through a reconceptualization of the nature of suffering, the cultivation of compassion for ourselves and others, and a changed relationship to difficult experience itself.
