FREE CEU for you!

 NASW-VT is offering to grant one CEU free of charge to members who participate in a discussion of the movie, “Precious.”

Here is how it works.

 1.   Any member may organize a group of 5 to 7 (or more) local social workers (we can help you find them) to meet together. They don’t all have to be social workers (but only social workers will get a CEU).

NOTE: Only NASW-VT members will receive the FREE CEU. This is a membership benefit. Others are welcome to join the discussion and they are also welcome to join. Anyone can join or renew online at www.socialworkers.org or from www.naswvt.org.

 2.    Either show the film and hold a discussion or ask everyone to see the film first and then come to a discussion. (The CEU is for the discussion.)

NOTE: The chapter has a copy of the DVD which you may borrow free of charge on the honor system (which means you will send it back immediately after use). We also will provide a discussion guide to help you facilitate the discussion.

 3.       At the gathering, ask each social worker who participates to sign a sign-in sheet (which we will provide). We must have current email addresses from each person.

 4.       Facilitate a discussion of the movie around the learning objectives provided, using our discussion guide.

 5.       Mail the sign-in sheet to NASW-VT at P.O. Box 1348, Montpelier, VT 05601-1348.

 6.     NASW-VT will then send an evaluation of the experience to each participant. When the evaluation is received, the participant will receive via email a CEU certificate.

Extra Credit:  If you are the one who facilitates the discussion, you may claim 2 CEUs (one for the discussion and one for preparing for the discussion using our discussion guide).
